APTIMISE COMPOSITES LLC ACQUIRES FORT WAYNE’S PLASTIC COMPOSITES COMPANY — RAPID GROWTH PLANNED

A molder of aerial tower and utility truck lift truck buckets, PCC manufactures the composite buckets using fiberglass reinforcements and resins. In addition to the truck buckets, PCC produces custom molded industrial components such as recreational vehicle components and products for the door and window markets. The new firm will operate under the well-known Plastic Composites brand name.

The purchase of PCC will bring a renewed emphasis on product development and growth driven by the innovation of products. Dan Templeton, CEO of Aptimise Composites stated, “PCC will expand into new markets and new technologies within the next six months. We are starting research and development in vehicle components and building products immediately.” In response to questions about how PCC will accomplish this Templeton continued, “We have already developed four patentable products using Inventive Problem Solving and Directed Evolution methods.” As the conversation continued, Jerry Healey, the new Vice-President of Sales added, “Several customers have already expressed strong interest. We are providing quotes and designs.”

Steve Kepler will be the new General Manager of PCC. According to Kepler: “One of the first things we will do is to ready the plant operations for the planned growth. To do this, we will boost the manufacturing process through the application of Lean and Six Sigma methodologies very soon. We plan on being ISO9000 certified by the end of the 2008.”
